Narrative:
The trailer for Waterloo Road cleverly introduces new student Gabriela. There is the main role of her in the TV drama as shes a new student in the series of Waterloo road which is, Gabriela. However, within this overall narrative is shown as a very spoilt rich fathers daughter who doesn't care about anything, and does what ever she wants to. At one point,Gabriela is shown 'kissing' a boy when her father told her to take of the lipstick as soon as they reach Waterloo road. some of the narrative shows that as soon as Gabriela shows up at the school everyone is standing outside because clearly something has happened, so they start starring at Gabriela and the car she came to school in. There's also dialogue said when Gabriela kisses a boy so then the boy turns around and says to another girl that "I haven't done anything" It is clear to the audience that there is something with Gabriela attitude which could show her true colours while shes at Waterloo road, so this is a good TV Drama for those who are 12 and over. These are all classic English urban TV drama conventions.

Character:
The characters are typical of a TV Drama in the sub-genre of a urban school theory of character types. Gabriela could be a villain in Waterloo as shes a new character and has a very different attitude." The trailer then goes on to introduce other key character Gabriela who comes and already has shown what she can do and doesn't care about her actions, so this shows that her character roll is a big thing.

Iconography:There is plenty of iconography of the urban school drama genre - and at points the trailer almost feels like a school based drama. The props include a new car, make-up, hand-bag and etc....the way shes dressed shows how she looks like. Alongside the costume and props, the school is shown to be looked at because something has happened . All of these are typical of urban school drama sub-genres.

Setting:the location is designed to be at a school to the audience - the outside of the school is a good example of it being a setting for the drama. However, the main settings are inside the school, playgrounds and etc....This promises the audience a variety of scenes they'll see throughout the whole series and episodes. This setting may remind the audience that urban school teen dramas are like this and they'll see alot if things throughout the whole waterloo road.
